St. Mary’s Catholic School Students Place 1st Overall at District PSIA

On Saturday, February 29, 2020, St. Mary’s Catholic School students competed in the District Meet for Private Schools Interscholastic Association, Inc. (PSIA) in Seguin, TX. Middle School students placed 1st and Elementary students placed 3rd. St. Mary’s Catholic School came in first overall based on points. The students began preparing for this event in October with the help of their coaches. 

Students from 1st through 8th grades competed in the following categories:

• Number Sense 

• On-Site Drawing 

• Poetry

• Science

• Spelling 

• Vocabulary

• Dictionary Skills

• Maps/Graphs/Charts

• Ready Writing 

• Impromptu Speaking 

• Music Memory

• Art Memory

• Modern Oratory

• Listening Skills

• Calculator Apps 

 Our students have qualified to compete in 18 events at the Texas State Tournament on May 2nd at Texas Christian University.
