As a treat for our students, we will be visiting Belton’s Summer Fun Water Park on May 10.
While at the park, there are three rules to which we must abide:
· No running
· No diving
· No glass
After touring the Summer Fun Water Park, I feel very confident that all of our students will be safe as they enjoy the time outside. The park will be fully staffed for the entire day. There will be 9 life guards on duty at all times. Students will have a variety of activities throughout the day. The main pool is 5 feet in depth, with a smaller kiddie pool, which is about 22-20 inches deep. The “lazy river,” which runs around the entire park, is a slow-paced, winding stream that is only 3 feet deep. In addition to the water slides and pools, there are volleyball and basketball courts. Summer Fun provides the volleyballs and basketballs as well.
Students are asked to bring their own lunch and drinks, as the concession stand will not be open. We are asking those parents that do attend to bring a cooler in order to store the lunches. Please do not forget to bring only plastic bottles, as broken glass could pose a serious risk.
Pre K students are invited as well, but they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. All parents are invited to attend, but to chaperone or transport students, you must be EIM compliant.
As we do not have the park until 10 a.m., all students must report to school first in order to be counted as present. Students may wear a t-shirt and proper shorts over their swim attire to school. All students must travel from the school to Summer Fun and return back to the school after our time has ended at 2 p.m.
Please complete the Summer Fun field trip form and return it to your homeroom teacher by Monday, April 30, 2012.
