Thank you for your patience and support in picking up your student’s learning materials today.
We, as a faculty and staff, pledge to you our best efforts to ensure students’ learning is not
interrupted and in fact enhanced and fun!
Please remember that the purpose of the school closure is to keep distance between and
among people to keep the virus from spreading. Please do your best to limit exposure, even
among your child’s buddies.
The faculty and staff met for a number of hours today talking through our plans and training,
training, training. The climate of the faculty was that of excitement and apprehension. I am sure you and your student are feeling much of the same. I will share with you our plans for this week, and beyond if necessary. We do not know what the future holds and will need to take things day by day. I will communicate all news to you when it is made available to me. You may also visit these websites for updates for Texas and beyond. Our plan: (Please note that with every “perfect” plan there will be glitches and possible
adjustments. I ask for your patience and input if you see a glitch)
1. All passwords will be sent to you by Ms. McPhie by tomorrow.
2. Today and tomorrow your teacher will post student work on the website as usual.
3. Beginning on Tuesday afternoon/Wednesday morning, your teacher will post teacher
video lessons on the Google Classroom (specific details will be sent to you from Ms.
McPhie as to logging on).
4. Wednesday, students assignments will be posted on the website and in Google
Classroom. These assignments will be directly related to the teacher videos. Therefore
students will need to watch the videos before completing the assignments.
5. Each teacher will choose a time during the day when parents and students may log on
for Face Time with the teacher to ask questions or check in using the platform of ZOOM.
This information for “ZOOM” will be sent to you soon.
We are signed up but there is a backlog with the number of schools using this. However,
we feel it is best fit for us and will await their confirmation. In the meantime, if you have
questions please email the teacher.
6. Students will turn all work in via Google Classroom. All work for the week is due
according to teacher instruction. All work not assigned a specific day, is due by Sunday
of that week, at midnight. Work turned in after this will be considered late. To turn in
work, please scan or take a picture and upload to the Google Classroom.
