SMCS families, I am honored to introduce myself as the kindergarten teacher. My name is Rebecca Sanchez and I look forward to meeting each one of you. This is my second year teaching and I hope we can work together to make this an enriching experience for our kinder class. A little about myself, I've been married to my husband for 15 years, and we have four children together. My oldest son Ben will be in 9th grade, my daughters Amiliah and Olivia will be here at SMSC and my youngest daughter Zoey is 3 years old. I was born and raised in California and moved to Texas about a few years ago. I attended Cal State Fullerton and graduated with a degree in Child Development. For more than 5 years I’ve worked with several districts. I’ve had the pleasure of working with various students in elementary schools. Right before I left California I was a behavioral interventionist. As a teacher it will be my goal to help students reach their highest potential and by setting them up to succeed l hope to build their confidence. I believe that with intentionality and perseverance, students will rise to the occasion. Teaching involves a process of learning from students, colleagues and parents, and I aim to bring a positive attitude, open mind and high expectations for my students each day. I am looking forward to meeting you and your family.
