Bienvenidos/ Welcome to the Spanish Class 2020-2021
I am excited to welcome our in person and online Middle School students. This year we will continue using Español Santillana Program for the 6th and 7th grade; 8th grade students, who chose Spanish as elective, will use Buen Viaje (Spanish I) Program; this course will count as a credit for Spanish I in High School.
Weekly activities in each grade involve, oral practice, conversation, reading from the textbook, activities in the workbook, singing songs, use of technology and praying in Spanish as well as other learning activities.
Grading policy : In person and online students are expected to participate in class, complete classwork and other activities on time. Any incomplete assignment will be considered homework. Students will miss 10 points if they don't turn in assignments on time.
The evaluation is permanent, students will be given tests, quizzes, and pop quizzes, as well as an exam at the end of every semester. If a student scores less than 70 in a quiz, test, or any other given assignment the student needs to discuss with the teacher, his/her options (extra credit work or retaking the test) to make up the failing score. The highest score will be 70. There will be no make ups for failing exams.
All scores on exams and assignments will be based on 100 points. The final grade for each quarter will be determined by a formula chosen at the beginning of the year.
